Barbershops in Iran have different uses based on gender. There is one for men with men stylists and another for female hairstylists who solely give services to women. the presence of the opposite sex in any of these spaces prohibited under state law. Therefore, for both genders, being in these rooms is an abnormal and strange experience. I attempt to turn this strangeness into an exotic experience by placing myself in the core of the picture. In this series, being Inspire by John Berger's surveillances theory, I have tried to depict the females' situations in our society in which always being evaluated by men or other women. "Men look at women, and women watch themselves being looking at." The mirror and the camera are tools for self-reflection and surveillance, either.
