Home as Public House
(2029-2020)

According to the laws governing society in Iran, activities such as dancing (especially for women) and drinking alcohol of any kind (even bears, etc.) are considered a crime in public or in private. However, many people do these recreational activities in their places because of a low risk of arresting. Thus, these activities that are openly common in other societies are here inevitably headed home. So, home is a place where people can experience these banned hobbies with less fear of getting caught. This series attempt to portray a group of young people doing these unlawful acts in their homes. I had to censor some people's faces in the pictures at their request because they were concerned about the consequences of displaying these pictures. Yet, it was not possible to display this collection on the faculty's wall publicly, so I put photos on the table and place a thin white paper on each. The audience had to pick each photo sheet personally, observe it, and then put the thin paper in its previous place.
